Petr Ševčík grew up in communist Czechoslovakia, where he studied electronics and automation. He was involved in the underground art movement in film, photography, painting and music. As well as performing with drums and guitar in a band, he built his own circular modulator, used in performances of electronic and concrete music. At age 23, Petr escaped communism and immigrated to Canada, where he has continued his involvement in photography, filmmaking, and experimenting with sound. He has produced and directed a number of short films. He is currently working on a documentary about the Moravian underground movement of the 1970s, using some of his own music as the soundtrack.
